The monohydrate carries bound water, so published specs allow loss on drying up to 7.0%. The COA should say whether the HMB result is on a dry or as is basis.

The monohydrate holds about 6% bound water. Compare the loss on drying result with that figure, and ask about any large gap.
Contaminant limits
Check heavy metals by ICP-MS and microbial limits by USP methods. Compare each limit with your own finished product specification.
Origin and supplier file
Ask for the country of manufacture and the producing plant. Published COAs list China, so a named site makes your supplier approval faster.
Label math: If your label lists HMB per serving, base it on the HMB assay and basis on each COA. Do not use the weight of the salt. One gram of calcium HMB monohydrate supplies about 800 mg of HMB as supplied. Ask your regulatory reviewer whether your panel also needs a calcium line.
